This kit contains the essential parts required to build your own interface - one annoying aspect of datamodes is that you often need a way to control the PTT of your transceiver outside of the CAT interface. Traditionally, this could have been handled via a 9-pin RS232 port. But today it's all about USB so you either need to buy a converter or buy a ready-made (and often expensive) interface "off the shelf".
With these parts you have the main ingredients for a CW and Datamode interface - we even supply an example circuit showing you how to put it all together, but you will need to add some of your own cabling and a suitable box.
Difficulty : 4/5 - Soldering experience is essential and the kit requires an understanding of how this circuit works as well how to complete it with a suitable enclosure.
A great project for PSK, RTTY, JT65, SSTV and CW enthusiasts!
The USB to Serial options give you the choice of a PCB module (FTDI chipset) or USB to 9pin cable (CH340 chipset)
