The new MD-2017 aka Retevis RT-82 is a dual-band DMR/FM transceiver with 5-watts output and is the successor to the popular MD-380 transceiver.  Now you get both 2m and 70cm in a single radio with the benefit of instant switching between conventional FM and DMR.  Enjoy QSOs with locals on FM as well as Worldwide link-ups via any DMR repeater.  One of the benefits of DMR is the use of TalkGroups and Time-Slots which allow 2 conversations to take place on a single frequency. This means that a repeater can be used for a local (RF) QSO at the same time as supporting a world-wide QSO.

Next batch due later this week - you can pre-order now!

We don't just sell you the radio - We want it to be ready to go when you turn it on, so includes programming with your local DMR/FM repeaters (aka: local CodePlug).  If you require additional repeaters (eg: for UK-wide travel), this is an additional purchase option. You get our laminated DMR Guide which gives you a quick 'n' easy reference to understanding the various TalkGroups, Time-Slots and the basic radio functions.

  • 136-170MHz and 400-480MHz
  • Analogue (narrow+wide) FM, and DMA modes
  • 5-watt and 1-watt output settings
  • SMA aerial socket (Yaesu style)
  • CTCSS for FM repeater access
  • DTMF keypad (ie: EchoLink)
  • 3000 Channel capacity
  • 10,000 Contacts capacity
  • 2200mAh Li-Ion Battery (car-adapter available here)
  • Programming cable included
  • Waterproof to IP67
  • In the box: FREE USB programming cable, laminated A7 reference card, rubber-duck aerial, charger, belt-clip and instruction manual and the radio!

We expect this radio to be popular with RAYNET users, and those who require a rugged dual-bander that offers both analogue+digital modes.  The radio has a different case-style to the older MD-380, so accessories specific to this radio are required.

New to DMR?  You will need a DMR ID to use the network - so register for a DMR User ID and then take a look at the DMR UK "Getting Started" page.

What is Retevis?  It's just a different name - It's still a TYT radio but if you order enough radios, TYT will re-brand the radio and packaging with your own logo/name.
