This is the big one - It's part of our "Elite" range and features 3 stacked FT290 cores for those regularly running #MoreCowbell (up to 1000-watts).
B-STOCK OPTION : We have (1) of these boxes available as a "B-Stock Bargain" item. This means a fully working unit but suffers a visual imperfection such as a mis-aligned hole, potting compound leakage or something that wouldn't look good up close. At 30ft in the air, nobody would know the difference. If the option above is missing, then it's already been sold and we'll remove this text as soon as possible. Slightly off-centre/angled mast plate due to wonky drilling!
The End-Fed Half-Wave (aka: EFHW) is a popular choice for simple /P operating, but it can also be used equally well at home where a single wire down the garden won't attract too much attention. This type of matching device transforms the high impedance of a half-wavelength wire down to the 50-ohms expected by your transceiver.
A ground terminal is also provided should you wish to add a counterpoise.
A top-mounted eye-bolt allows for hanging/tying from a pulley, pole or suitable wall-fixing, a side eye-bolt provides strain-relief for the wire. A fixed mast-mounting plate secures the box using a V-bolt to any pole up to 2" diameter. No extra hardware is needed, and you even get spares!
Wire Lengths - we do not sell/supply wire
Approx 21m will be resonant on the 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m bands. Approx 42m of wire will present a low (under 3:1) SWR on most bands 80m-10m - hopefully bringing it into range of a radio's internal ATU. You can also add "traps" along the way if you want to get creative with wire lengths. More details are given in the supplied info sheet.
Our standard "250-watt" and 800-watt models remain available...and, if you'd prefer a "random" end-fed wire matching device, we also produce a 9:1 Unun (250w) and QRO 400w version.
